RESISTANCE BANDS BY BODYSPORT
Resistance Band exercise training was first created in the early 1900's and originated in hospitals for use in rehabilitation, to strengthen and repair muscles after injury. In the 1960's, health professional began using bands for physical therapy and rehabilitation in resistance training.
This new form of training quickly became popular with fitness professionals and enthusiasts - resistance bands were a low-cost alternative to expensive and heavy weight training equipment. The bands brought a new freedom to fitness, being flexible, light and being easy to carry meant that people could travel easily with the bands.
Today resistance bands have come a long way - not only have they changed in style, but there are also many lengths and resistance levels to meet every level of exerciser. They are the easiest and most effective fitness equipment to begin using. Resistance bands can take you through a full body workout requiring minimal space and are very cost effective.
